How does CareKonnect match me with a caregiver?+
You tell us your ZIP code, the type of care you need, and your contact details. We instantly and automatically match you with identity-verified caregivers near you. A verified caregiver then reaches out to you directly to discuss care. You decide whether to move forward — there's no obligation.
Who contacts whom — and when?+
After you submit your request, a matched caregiver contacts you directly by phone or text to discuss your needs. That's why we ask for your consent to be contacted before we proceed. CareKonnect itself may also contact you about your request. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages.
Is CareKonnect free for families?+
Yes. Getting matched is completely free for families and seniors. There are no fees or hidden charges to receive matches and connect with caregivers. Caregivers pay a small per-match fee to access leads.
How are caregivers verified?+
Every caregiver completes government-ID and liveness verification through our third-party verification partner, Didit, before they can be matched with a family. This confirms the caregiver is who they say they are.
Do you run criminal background checks?+
Identity verification is not the same as a criminal background check. CareKonnect verifies caregiver identity; we do not currently perform criminal background checks, employment verification, or reference checks. We recommend families conduct any additional screening they consider appropriate before hiring. We are working to add background-check options and will say so clearly when they are available.
Is CareKonnect the caregiver's employer?+
No. CareKonnect is an introducer. We connect families with independent caregivers; we do not employ, supervise, direct, or guarantee them. The family is the hiring party and makes its own hiring decisions.
How is my personal information protected?+
We share your request only with verified caregivers matched to you — never with advertisers — and we never sell your data. Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest and stored on secure, SOC 2-compliant infrastructure. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What does it cost caregivers, and what if a lead is bad?+
Caregivers pay a simple per-match fee with no ongoing platform commissions. Slot purchases are generally non-refundable, but we stand behind lead quality: if a lead is demonstrably invalid (a disconnected or invalid number, a duplicate, an out-of-area request, or a fraudulent lead), we credit it back to your account.
